Here it is almost the end of February and we didn't do too much this month. For about 2 weeks all we did was fight off the BUG!! Then after we were sure that we couldn't give it to any one else we started doing stuff.
We went to San Carlos, Mexico on the 17th, it was sunny all the way down. The pot holes in the road are bad, we thought that going down we were missing a lot of them, on the way back, I think the road workers must have put them all over on the North bound side!!! I mean big ones like some of the ones in Alaska in 2000. We bothe commented that we were glad we were in the jeep, narrower wheel base, can at least miss some. We were in San Carlos by 4 p.m. and put everything into the room at Departmento Adali and went over to Marina Real to see Mel and Shari Grimes, they are all moved in to their slip, tho they kept blowing the dock breaker (at the top of the dock). So we told them to talk to Mario, he will fix it. Had a nice dinner with them in Micasa (their boat), and then went back to the apartment.
Monday, we went over to dry storage to check on Vela (our boat), and her wet seam was dry enough for Scott to put some putty in it, so got that done, and all the spots that needed caulking done also. Then went inside and started bring stuff off so we can start doing more stripping. In the evening we went to dinner, with Mel and Shari, at a new restaurant, for us, Fiesta. East of town at the Hotel Fiesta, wonderful meal for two $390 (pesos) and the meat was so tender you could cut it with a fork.
Tuesday, we went over to the Marina San Carlos and was looking for the boat broker to list her, and just like a lot of businesses in Mexico, no one at home. But, a couple of people were there also, and looking to buy a boat, and were interested in Vela, so away we went to show her. We did that 2 times that day. It was fun. Went to Jax Snax for dinner this nite.
Wednesday, took the wind vane off, also life ring, many pumps, and quite a bit of weight, so packed them in the back of the jeep, and prepared to get ready to go home the next day.
Thursday, got back to Tucson in record time for us (this year) we left at 9 a.m. and was back at Davis Monthan AFB unloading at 5 p.m. It wasn't even dark. Decided we would go to Chinese, and all the sudden a knock on the door and Glenn Dailey and Suzette were in overflow. They had just gotten in from a Trax Tour, their first as being Wagon Master. So made arrangements to meet with them Friday for dinner.
Friday, wash day.
