March 9 thru March 18

March 9, 2008 -- Left Tucson and headed south for San Carlos. The road was quite rough with pot holes, but so what we were on an adventure drive trip. Had a great trip, and got to Departmento Adlai about 4 p.m., got into our room (2 beds, microwave and fridge, good shower), and headed over to Marina Real where our friends Mel and Shari on MiCasa are berthed in their trawler. Said hello, caught up with all they were doing and decided to go to dinner at "Fasta Pasta", then went back to the Motel. When we got up in the morning we had quite a surprise -- FOG -- it was really socked in.
We took quite a few pictures, showing the outer harbor from Marina San Carlos, and even towards Guyamus. That haze in the picture is all fog, with sunshine above it, quite a day.
So from there, we went out to Vela at dry storage at Marina Real, Scott finished getting the bottom painted, and touch-ups and then started taking more stuff off her. Took her radar off and all the cabling that goes with it. When we get it all cleaned up it goes on the market. We have had another nibble, but no money, so Vela is still for sale, and we will take more off of her. Next is the Wind Generator, and then the inverter. Such a shame no one is interested in a wood boat, but can't tell someone may surprise us and offer some money one of these days. So on thursday we left San Carlos, for the trip back to Tucson, our 4 days went quite fast, and for once it wasn't too windy. We got home about 5 p.m. and unloaded everything, and decided we would go for dinner. Good little Mexican restrurant on 22nd and had a good meal.
And here it is the day after St. Patricks Day, we had Corned Beef and Cabbage and just enjoyed ourselves, it was raining and sleet outside, so didn't do much as far as work!!!
